My theory about KyleXY

Dirk...
I am enjoying KyleXY. I have my own theory about it. I think Kyle is a
human, but the family he's staying with are obviously space aliens,
who have stolen his belly button and memory, and given him enhanced
intelligence and unusual abilities. The alien family is pretending to
be a normal family, basing their behavior on characters from various TV
series they've watched, like FATHER KNOWS BEST, LASSIE and
Charlie's Angels.

The family are aliens from the planet HollywoodXY, where people's
behavior has only vague resemblance to human behavior in real life.

The young son who thinks Kyle is an alien is the funniest, since if
most of us were in his position, we would be asking Kyle to jump off
the roof, run a two minute mile, compose a symphony, pick winning Lotto
numbers, morph into a pinup girl, or do ANYTHING a person with half a
brain would suggest if they had the opportunity to be in the presence
of such an extraordinary being as Kyle.

In the very least, it would make a normal person mistrustful of
sleeping a few feet away from someone who behaved in such novel and
surprising ways. What if one of Kyle's unusual behaviors is inserting a
soda straw into a person's head and sucking the brain out? So, the
kid's ability to sleep and keep up with his fantasies about SI
swimsuit models means obviously that he is the alien.

Perhaps the tongue-in-cheek aspect of the story is intentional. Another
theory would be that Kyle is an alien, but the mother planet has sent
down this weird family -- from a lower species with a faint resemblance
to humans -- to care for him. Either way, I like it.

Josh Hutcherson...
A human without a bellybutton is freaky.

Anthony Cerrato...
I say the smart money is on him being an android! Notice his
behavior patterns for ex.--he behaves exactly like Data from
Trek!

Ar Q...
Any man-made android or robot should have a belly button. After all, when
you can make something marvelous and so close to human, I don't think they
will omit such an important part. My bet is on alien. And I think we have
seen a UFO in the future episodes preview.

Mark Nobles...
He's not man-made and he was not grown in a tank by cloning a human. He
was molded together in human form like a golem.

The hole in my theory, however, is that all his other internal organs
are perfectly normal. How could aliens figure out to put an appendix in
place, but forget to put a belly button?

cloud dreamer...
I like it too. But my theory is that he is cloned or grown in a tank.
Too many things point to that. The lack of a belly button, the fact that
he feels comfortable in the bathtub and underwater, his knowledge which
was programmed while he was maturing yet lacking the basics of daily living.

shawn...
Is there a gene for a belly button or does that solely have to do with
the genes that tell the egg to connect to the uterus by means of what
will become the umbilical cord. So a clone could be developed using
the same means or it's possible that clones could be made that don't
need umbilical cords and hence wouldn't need a belly button. I could
see that happening in our future, say a few hundred years down the
road. So now the question is there someone in Kyle's world that can
develop clones like that or did he come from somewhere else?

shawn...
This makes the most sense to me.

shawn...
this is certainly a possibility but it makes me question why the
aliens would go through all the trouble. If there technology is that
far advanced why can't they interact with us directly or study us from
afar. We certainly don't try and hide any portion of our lives from
being broadcast in general. Specific portions of your life might not
be broadcast, but you can see all areas of human life if you look at
the various satellite broadcasts. If they wanted to put someone into
the world to experience it first hand they could have given him quite
a bit more information on how humans interact with each other.

shawn...
Well, they are like most people and assuming that aliens and other
strange things like that don't exist. So there's something odd about
Kyle, but they assume it has a human cause. Plus there is the bits of
humor added into the mix to make things more interesting, but less
believable.
