Will "Medium" last another season?

It's a good show, but up against "CSI Miami" it is getting it's head
handed to it.

That may be but the question is does NBC have anything that is likely
to do better there. Keep in mind NBC is really hurting with so few
shows that are doing well in the ratings that they have to think much
harder about canceling a show that is drawing any sort of audience. A
show like "Medium" might be an easy show to cancel if on CBS, but
luckily that's not the network it is on.

At this point the only real hit NBC has is Deal or No Deal. They have to
hold onto anything with half decent ratings. They're even keeping the corpse
of ER on air because they're so desperate. Medium is currently one of their

But it's not the same show that it started out as. With one or two
exceptions, nobody from the original cast remains. Even Wyle is effectively
gone (despite the occasional guest appearance). Compare that to M*A*S*H
which still had Hotlips and Hawkeye in it's last year. It's because ER
started out so strongly that they people are still watching the current
show. There are some fans who will watch the show no matter how bad it gets.

A decline in quality isn't a reason for NBC to cancel their third most
popular show.

better performing shows. It got a 6.9 on Monday, so they're certain to bring
it back next year.

NBC has already sold the reruns to Lifetime so it's almost guaranteed
to be around for 80+ episodes.
