i enjoyed the WWII story about the one american usmc downing as many as
7 zero planes by himself during the guadalcanal campaign. However, do
you think most of their stories are biased towards
the americans? i would like to see stories covered on other countries.

tomcervo...
Erm, it's American television. Though I wouldn't mind seeing something
about the incredibly underreported Red Air Force in WW2.

Garondo Marondo...
The cheery ending to last night's Vietnam ep was kind of silly
actually.

..
Garondo Marondo!

KennyGee...
Ya think?
Germany had more fighter Aces than all other countries combined during WW2 but
I challenge you to name one.

Orson Wells as Citizen_Cain...
The Red Baron.

Dennis M. Hammes...
(Manfred von Richthofen), Werner Voss, Max Immelmann, Max Boelke.

(you're welcome)

Dennis M. Hammes...
Adolf Galland, Ernst Udet, Werner Kleinst.
(Dis vass Vorld Var II, und dose Fokkers vas flyingk Messerschmitts).

Christopher Helms...
I think somebodys' gotten their wars mixed up.

Orson Wells as Citizen_Cain...
ARE YOU CALLING SNOOPY A LIAR?????

Libbie...
Snoopy? You mean the self-styled World War I flying ace?

Dennis M. Hammes...
/All/ WWI aces were "self-styled." They /wrote/ The Book.

Dennis M. Hammes...
"After the turn of the century, in the clear blue skies over Germany..."
I.e., WWI.

Chris Pisarra...
and you're wrong--he was World War I.

the use of computer animation was good too, without resorting to stock
footage.

timeOday...
I am discovering for the first time the BBC's 1974 WWII series "The
World At War". 26 episodes (no kidding). It's detailed, not
US-centric, and they have supporting footage and/or first-person
accounts of almost everything. Oh, and it's narrated by Laurence
Olivier. However, it is a history of the war, more than individuals'
war stories.

Garondo Marondo...
I've seen a few History Channel shows from the point of view of other
countries during WW2, perhaps it was History Channel International. I
just recall that almost the whole show was dubbed.

..
Garondo Marondo!
