Combination of both - the show generally ranked between #20 and #30 at its
peak, but once "Sanford" began to pick up steam, ratings for the Bradys
started to taper off. So faced with declining ratings, contracts that had to
be renegotiated, and a lead actor who was feuding with the producer, ABC
decided to drop the show. Creatively, it probably only would have been able
to go on for one more year, anyway.

well-publicized how much he really loved being around his co-stars. He
basically treated them like they were his real family. On one of those
recent "Behind the Scenes" shows (I forget which), Susan Olsen said
that Reed also loved to do the kinds of entertaining (singing, dancing)
seen on the horrible variety hour. Olsen said that Reed always looked
like he was the only one in the cast who loved doing that show.
