"Black Market"
1-27-06 BSG

IsaacKuo...
I give it a 3.5. It was a good episode, all around, but it didn't
really advance the main plot and I'm feeling a bit impatient
for that. Interesting how Zarek just plain USED Apollo and
Apollo didn't even see it.

Chris Basken...
Apollo never sees it. Either that or he likes being used.

Isaac Kuo

Kweeg...
3.5, only because it didn't really advance the story arc.

5 stars (eBay)

pv+usenet...
Again I will be charitable and give this a 2.0. Would it have hurt so much
to have the woman's name be 'Cassiopeia'? *

0-1 stars (eQaeda)

4.5 stars. I would have been just four but they inclued a flash back
to my favorite seen in the entire project - the battle of the Rez ship.
So I just had to give them extra for that. Poor Billy. She might be
with you but she is thinking of him. Ouch! It was also cool when
'Casiopia' droped the farm fresh girl next door act. I only wish they
devoted even more time to the confrontation at the end.

Night Spirit...
5.0

It reminded me of a Frank Miller "Sin City" graphic novel.

Jaime M. de Castellvi...
I'm tempted to say that this one somewhat jumped the shark, heh, heh,
heh. All the same, I'll give it

4.5

Wanna bet on how soon the Cylonnette uses the nuclear device to blow
up the "Pegasus"? Doubt they'll be keeping around two battlestars for
long, at the rate at which they are getting rid of the recurring
actors.

Will...
Possibly the most violent episode in the series. Some excellent character
interaction between Baltar and Roslin, and some good character development
for Apollo. We learned a lot about the guy, some of it quite interesting.

4 Stars

If you haven't yet done so, get Ron Moore's podcast from iTunes Music
Store (free) and listen to what he had to say about this episode.

He wasn't very happy with it.

I actually liked it better before I went and listened to the podcast,
but Ron pointed out several shortcomings that I hadn't thought about
before (as well as a couple that sort of bugged me anyway, like the
head bad-guy's absurd outfit).

It didn't miss a beat. 5 *****

I was on the fence when Lee got jacked. This is entertainment after
all. There has to be a hero. But, that was remedied beautifuly. Even
if it was telegraphed a little bit that was inevaitable. Best show of
the season so far.

5 stars. A most welcome return to form after the zero-star
atrocity of last week, and the rubbish ending of the Pegasus
story the week before.

Cyde Weys...
I dunno, I guess I'll give it a 3. It's not nearly what I've come to
expect from BSG, but its non-clich=E9 ending saved it from getting worse.

Dr.X...
1.5

It didn't have the BSG feel this time.

Thalador...
3

I really dont like how they are turning Apollo into a weenie. He wants to
die, goes to hookers etc.. I dont like where this is going

spam...
You can't have a redemption play unless you have people like this.

But not to fret - he redeemed himself when he pulled that trigger. Now
his father respects him for a man - a military man and not some
flyboy.

I predict that Apollo will one day command the Pegasus.

Zombie Elvis...
Listening to the podcast, I noticed that Ron Moore was pretty hard on
himself over this episode. But it was still solid if unspectacular.

Chris Basken...

DWACON...
I give it a 5 just because of a stellar performance by the always awesome
Bill Duke.
For BSG overall, 3 stars.

For an "Apollo" episode, 10 stars. ;)

John Doe II...
Not bad - 3*s
