CBS and the CW

So far, CBS has picked up two new comedies, The Class and Creature Comforts.
The CW hasn't announced any new pickups yet. Any speculation on why ABC,
NBC, and Fox are leaking and not CBS and the CW? Does Les have everyone
locked up in his guarded office and did he take away their cellphones? :)

Why does it matter? We'll know soon enough.

The most likely reason is that they don't have everything finalized yet. CBS
may be considering sending a show or two over to the CW.

I can't imagine anything on CBS that'd fit with the CW's other shows.

Les Moonves is a notorious control freak, but CBS doesn't need to do
much in the way of picking up new shows. The CW, by contrast, needs
to do a *LOT* of fiddling with its schedule and is one of the last two

What fiddling?! Most of us here have already outlined probable CWN
sched's. With "Heaven" back in the mix now, it's even easier. The only
mysteries for The CW are Wednesdays and Sundays.

networks to announce its fall schedule (on Thursday, IIRC), so I'm
willing to bet that Ostroff and Moonves won't finalize the CW's
schedule until Wednesday night after we've all seen everybody else's
schedule and CW has a chance to counterprogram against them.

They may be wanting to see what the other nets do on Wed. & Sun. before
finalizing, but I'd say their Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Fridays
schedules are already pretty much set.
