The episode was "Static"
Clark went to Seattle to stop a Phantom Zoner that ripped the bones out of
his victims. The Martian Manhunter saved Clark. All we saw was a
silhouette with glowing red eyes. He flew off leaving Oreos behind.

In the comics, J'onn J'onnz can morph so that he looks like anyone, so
if the Smallville producers kept that in his power-set, there'd be no
way for you to know, unless they hung a lantern on it. See:

Probably an extra of some kind playing MM for just that scene. In
upcoming episodes, J'onn is going to be played by Phil Morris (Jackie
Chiles on Seinfeld).
