Sean Connery AFI Salute: Why USA?

Didn't CBS used to normally air these AFI salutes? So why isn't it
airing the Sean Connery one? You'd think with someone like Connery
they would. Instead, USA will be airing it on June 21. The weird
thing, though, is that CBS will be airing AFI 's 100 Years...100 Cheers
on June 14. I think it would've made more sense if it were the other
way around.

CBS has been airing AFI's "top 100" specials for the last 5 or so
years. USA has been airing the salutes.

USA has been airing these for the last few years. Other decent tribute
shows that the you would think the Networks would be interested in
airing are the Mark Twain Honors that PBS uns every year and the
Kennedy Center Honors.

I know last year was George Lucas, and I'm pretty sure the year before
that was Harrison Ford, I can't recall who it was the year before that?
