George Avalos...
"The Long Con"
2-8-06 Lost

5 stars (Henry Gondorff)

Steven L....
Thank you! The backstory con really was reminiscent of "The Sting."

0-1 stars (Salvadore Tessio)

Grey Wolf...
4.5 stars.

I was all set to blame Ana Lucia too, so consider me conned. I don't
like the development that Charlie is willing to hurt innocent people
just to get back at Locke. But as I'm tired of having him fawn all
over Claire with no reciprocation, I guess having him go to the dark
side might be more interesting.

David...
4.7

Soooooo close to being an excellent episode. Island segments that had
me questioning everyones motives, a flashback I was into, the Sawyer
reveal that left me smiling and a surprising Charlie moment. But...
that pathetic ad for the mystery "manuscript." UGH.

Milhouse Van Houten...
You gave it an 'A-' grade: how is that not "excellent"?

Ryan Robbins...
Um, "A+" would be excellent. And "A" would still be better than "A-."

David...
Before the plug it was bordering on an A+

And what are you talking about with the manuscript Hurley was reading for
about 2 seconds? Are you joking or is this in reference to some
show-related news story that I missed?

Steven L....
That's the ABC tie-in, the mystery novel "Bad Twin," which ABC is having
specially written just for "Lost."

David...
My problem with it is that it didn't sound natural, it sounded like a
sales pitch. Why would Hurley be so excited about finding a manuscript?
And haven't they gone through all the luggage by now? I would think
that even people who weren't aware that it's a promotion sensed
something "off" about it.

Captain Infinity...
You are correct, at least in my case.

Captain Infinity

GarondoMarondo...
Hurley's line read saved it.

..
Garondo Marondo!

Steven L....
4.6
Very well crafted episode. It wasn't really that hard to guess how the
backstory con and the island con would come out. But it was still fun
to see how polished both cons were.

Sawyer is revealed to be really sharp. He can outthink Jack, Locke and
Kate combined.

As I predicted, Beth Broderick would have just a little cameo as Diane.

GarondoMarondo...

..
Garondo Marondo!

Daniel Morris...
4.75 - Sawyer (not Hugo) really needs everyone to hate him.

cloud dreamer...
Loved it! 4.95

Ian J. Ball...
Now that's more like it. Finally. This episode *rocked*.

4.75

You get an episode like this, and I can't understand why they felt the
need to 'muddy' things up (i.e. dilute them) by adding The Tailies.

More *this*, less everything else, please.

Ian (Further confirming that my theory is right - only Sawyer, Kate &
Locke episodes are worth watching; everything else is filler (or
worse)...)

weberm...
Worst. Episode. Ever.
Zero stars.

altec3220...
Thank you! This was a horrible, horrible episode, much worse than the
last one (which was pretty bad in its own right). Aside from the last
reveal - which was no surprise - everything was obvious after maybe
twenty, twenty-five minutes.

I probably won't be watching this show again.

altec3220...
I would not go that far. At least not yet.

seivadjmas...
End if the season next week? aren't those usually in may?

Eric Ramon...
Why don't I believe you?

maninbrain...
Hahaha! Suuuuuuuuuuuuuure ya won't.

seivadjmas...
It wasn't nearly as bad as the last one. Sure, not much happened as far
as the big mysteries like Dharma and others and all that, but there was
some good character interaction and sawyer is the best character which
helped.

angelsabove...
I give it 3.5 I think it was a good episode.
