They don't need a course change, just to stick with what's important.
Here we are two episodes into season three and we haven't seen half of
the cast or more. And what we have seen hasn't added up to much. It's
not answers so much I'm looking for just a bit of follow through and
urgency that the story should require. Not navel gazing and endless
back stories on characters who's life previous to the crash we have
seen more than twice.
Every bit of plot that was in the season 2 last episode should have
been dealt with in the season 3 opener. There is a ton of material to
deal with without seeming to lapse into repetition. Don't try to stay
on forever, just tell the story that needs telling and make it 5 good
seasons.

"Days of Our Lives" and "As The World Turns" have each lasted over 40
years with the same storyline.

I couldn't agree more. The first and second season I didn't even want
to watch the scenes from the next episode so it wouldn't spoil the
dramatic tension. This season however....well, I'll still watch just
to see what will happen, but it's not captivating me.
During one of the talk show appearences, Matthew Fox said it would be
interesting to see what happens when the financial desire (greed) butts
head with the artistic flow of the show. It's starting to happen. The
show should be three seasons long and that's it. Wrap this puppy up;
we know they--the writers and producers--can make it interesting. But
you also know that Disney (or whoever owns it) will demand more
seasons, just to make more filthy profits.
