John O'Hurley for TPIR?

I dunno. He does the same jumping shtick on Family Feud everydat. He jumps
every time the
buzzer goes off and the audience cackles wildly each time. It wasn't funny
the first time he did it.

I have nothing against Price (and always found him to be a competent
weatherman at WCBS), but I've read that his tryouts have not gone
well. Aside from the name coincidence ("Dave Price is right!"), I
don't understand why CBS is so eager to hire him for the gig.

I like Price well enough, I suppose, but one thing I simply don't
understand is his bizarre idea that "now let's see what's going on in
your area" is some kind of catch phrase. I mean, what the hell? He gets
a whole crowd of people to scream "IN YOUR AREA" as if it's the most
witty, original phrase ever. In fact, I can't think of a more
nondescript way to segway into the local weather. I'll agree that
Roker's "now here's what happening in your neck of the woods" is a
little stale at this point, but at least there's a *hint* of something
different about it.

That would actually be the least of our worries. According to some of
the yo-yo's on golden road msg board, it took 7 takes(tries) of him
doing the beginning entrance to get it right. And he's had trouble with
the TPIR Live in Vegas also, Simply put, Dave Price (if God is
willing!) is not gonna be the replacement for Bob Barker. We can only
hope.

What would Price do if he were the host of TPIR? Go to the producers
and say, "I have some great catch phrases to start the show. It will
be, 'Good morning!' And when we go to a new contestant, I'll say
"Welcome to the Price is Right!" Can you imagine anything more unusual?"

Perhaps O'Hurley is Fremantle's preference. They obviously know him
well (as he's emceed two game shows for them).
