Here's a look at the viewership for the CW last week (11/13-11/19) based on
Nielsen's weekly numbers. Note that these are viewer numbers, not HH
(percentage of households) numbers. Numbers represent viewers in millions.
Monday
3.22 Everybody Hates Chris
3.10 All Of Us
2.98 Girlfriends
2.43 The Game

Why why why?
Are the ratings on the CW in inverse proportion to the show's quality?
Rob Jensen...

No. They're in direct proportion. I still like VM, but it's always

So you believe that America's Next Top Model is of notably higher quality
than GG?
Rob Jensen...
Anim8rFSK...
Do you apply this to just the CW or to all networks. If all networks, then
you're saying the the highest quality show on the air is Dancing With The
Stars.
Personally, I've never seen any consistent correlation, direct or inverse,
between a show's quality (whatever that is) and its ratings.
Rob Jensen...

I was being rhetorical. IMO, Gg and VM's ratings being directly
proportional to their relative quality is merely a striking
coincidence.

been of notably lower quality than Gg. Problem is, it's been even
*lower* in quality than Gg this year than in VM's first two seasons.
Tonight's great episode *helped* raise the average for quality a bit
IMO, but the scripts for the first few episodes were *terrible* and
the show has never really looked like it's professionally shot.

It's funny that this stuff is so subjective. I tried to watch Gg a couple
of times but found it completely unwatchable.
Yet, I can't get enough of VM. Even the weakest episodes have great dialog
that I just get a kick out of and enjoy watching....
So, we obviously don't agree, oh well....
|
And to be even more honest, the performances of certain (Ryan)
supporting actors (Hansen) of both (The Femi-) genders (-nazis) has
been amateurish to the point of embarrassment. And the less said
about most of the one-episode guest-stars, the better.
That it actively alienates a significant percentage of Gg's audience
is IMO no surprise as outside of Colantoni, Bell, Ken Marino and

So, why was everyone talking last year about the Golden Age that VM and GG
would have when paired together?

.
They were basing their opinions on VM-season 2, not the current season.
(Wasn't that obvious? Did I really have to say it outloud?)

IMO, it was based on VM's snappy patter allegedly being compatible
with Gg's verbal wit. Problem is, put VM against even this
Palladino-less Gg that is *far* better than the Lor-Luke shippers at
TwoP give it credit for and VM comes out of it looking really, really
bad. It's a little like (okay, a *lot* like) when NBC followed
Friends with The Single Guy.

Amanda Seyfried, no other regular or prominent recurring characters'
performances rise above the level of Gg's worst-ever performances,
which were from Tricia O'Kelley (Nicole.)
And I really hate to say that because I love the show.
