I thought they were nuts for holding a Halloween party. Under the
circumstances, any pumpkins should have been slated for canning. Then
Ma Green made just that point when talking to Da Mayor, so I'll assume
that they do, indeed, "use every bit of the buffalo." Still, being so
profligate with the candles wasn't too smart.
Townsfolk and farm families ought to be hard at work figuring out how
to make substitutes for staple items, such as soap, and learning our
ancestors' methods for preserving food. The town's salt mine, if it
yields NaCl, will be a treasure trove for that process, and provide a
trade good once contact is made with other communities.

0.5 for me. Another Texas Walker Ranger episode. The only saving grave was
the backstory for Hawkins.

Ok. I admit it. I just don't "get" this show. Stuff happens. But... I kind
of don't care. i'm just not being drawn in.

Yeah like someone said last week the more interesting story is elsewhere.
The stories in Jericho are not compelling.
Still better than last week, I give it 3.0.

2.5.
I'm starting to nitpick the show, and that ain't a good sign.
The show is leaning towards being "about" relationships, but it is
inconsistant, and that's becoming annoying.
At least we did learn some things about Hawkings, but it really wasn't
what I wanted to know.
I am beginning to believe that Jake may be DEA, putting his criminal
past to work in a good way.
Eric is a wuss. At least he realizes it. Bad move leaving Gray in
charge. He'll try to take over, and there will be a little kingdom
growing up before we know it. Gray was right, though...they need to
think about protecting the people and land. Of course, they need to be
thinking about a lot of things that seems to be beyond their immediate
thoughts about the problems in their various relationships.
While Jake is being pragmatic and trying to ensure the continuation of
supplies, it might not be such a good idea to give that kind of power
to what seems like a pretty ruthless criminal. If Gray doesn't get
delusions of grandeur, Jonah just might.
Gracie's becoming a hoarder and trying to settle old scores. Her
character is the most annoying of all of them. Maybe she'll
conveniently get crushedl under another bus again soon. Or else go back
to that farm where she's knows she won't live forever.
Overall, this episode was just another big yawner.
