We had a sports preemption (I feel like I'm watching UPN again).

Was it local or national?

The major league baseball championship series was aired exclusively in
your area. The rest of the country got the best "Bones" episode ever,
though it was so controversial I don't see how they can ever repeat

And given how much licensed music they used, and how integral it was
to the plot, there's no way they're going to be able to afford the
clearances for DVD. They'll probably just leave the episode out of
the set entirely.

Fox. Major League Baseball. It happens every fall. All of their
regularly-scheduled programming is pre-empted for three weeks.
That's why they start several of their shows a few weeks before
the rest of the networks do.
