I'm not sure I can put a finger on it, but I sense an appreciation for
couples shows with Meredith Baxter, Judy Carne, and Julie Newmar. I (as
a six-year-old) had a fascination with Baxter and Newmar, the former
because of the girl-next-door image, the latter largely because of her
role as Catwoman. Carne seemed fun as the Rooftop newlywed but I'll
always remember her as the Sock-It-To-Me girl. Jane Fonda (Tall Story)
was not only dynamite in Barbarella (which I was too young to see) and
Cat Ballou, but she was the original Rooftop girl in film.
