As I said, there's no such thing as a $5 land line. Besides, if I
get a UPS, I can do something much more exciting than call my
mother, like defrag or something.

fred_h_haddad...
Unless your UPS fails to work and/or runs out of charge, in which case
your computer won't do anything. I'd rather have the solid reliability
of the old-fashioned phone line, so I could call police, fire, or an
ambulance if I need to.

Local Area Per-Call Billed Service (verizon - Pennsylvania):
- $3.80 per month. 10 cents per call.

Don't tell me "there's no such thing as a $5 land line". I used to
subscribe the service I just quoted above, albeit I was living slightly
more south in Maryland.
hey all,
So I'm finally in the market for a new cellphone and I thought what better

Good. First coconut I find I'm cracking over his skull and dining big.
God gave us the lesser animals to serve and sustain us.

doomella...
Are you eating Terry or the coconut?

It's the Principle!...
Both. Coconut shrimp is rather tasty.

switch to Verizon (from Cingular). I was thinking about the pink Razr, but
there's also the LG VX5300 or LG VX8300. I've heard some people comment on

I have the Motorola RAZR V3c

I love it.

Dickie Peters...
That is also the version I have and I love mine too.

I friend of mine just got a RAZR, with Sprint, and she has to pay by the
month for basic phone features. Like if she wants voice dial, where she
says your name and it calls you, Sprint charges her $5 a month. Are all
RAZRs like that, or is Sprint the worst service ever?

anotherwriter...
That's Sprint. I have cingular, pay one monthly fee and get 4500
national/Canada minutes, rollover minutes, Internet access, caller ID,
voice dialing, all the text messages, IMs and photos I want to send
and more for $59.99/month. They also offer less expensive plans, but
that one fit my needs.

some problems with the Razr, but I really like it. So was wondering what
you all thought? I went to a Verizon store today and played around with
what they have to offer which is how I narrowed it down to those three
models (size is important, so I don't want to go w/ one that has a keyboard,
etc). I think all three of them have the basic features I want in a phone.
Things like video I would consider to be icing on the cake. Opinions?

Using his head as a coconut cracker certainly qualifies as using the "lesser
animals" to serve and sustain.
Save your money and cancel your cell phone contract.

Rhino...
Why don't you try going to epinions.com, which is full of user-written
reviews of just about anything you can imagine. This link will take you to
the main page for cell phone reviews:

Jamie Brinkoeter...
I have a Razr and wouldn't buy one again. The battery went out within the
first 30 days, and they had to replace the phone within 3 months.

Thoughts?

carmenlee23...
I really like LG phones. Had one through Cingular. It was a great
little phone, occasionally had glitches, but it was durable and had
very well designed features.

And I never thought about it this way, but yeah, cell phones are kind
of a waste of money.

Northeast Reporting...
Get the LG 8600 - slim like the RAZR but not nearly as touchy and
problematic. The 8600 is a great phone.

FERRANTE...
I recently got the Razr and I absolutely love it. Bright and large
display and so thin. Best cell phone I have had to date and this is
probably my sixth phone over the last seven years.

John Duncan Yoyo...
Just be warned Verizon neuters lots of cool features on the original
phones. It has a habit of turning really good phones into average
phones.

~consul...
So you're saying that there has been nothing that has really kept your interest,
and this last one may or may not be 'good enough' in a year? ;)

FERRANTE...
I just like to keep up with the latest technology. And Btw, I am with
Alltel, not Verizon as some here are.

I get 1800 anytime minutes (actually 1500, but they let me keep the
300 extra I had from a previous campaign), free weekends and evenings
after 7:00p.m. and long distance included. My bill run about $70 a
month with all taxes, insurance, and everything. Not bad.

Good luck on you purchase.

I am Cingular a I own a Nokia. It's 3 years old and it works perfectly.
I know peeps tell me often to get a razor flippy phone cause mine is
out of style. I say if it isn't broke don't fix it.

Messalina...
I have a Treo 650 I got for $200 with my Cingular contract. The Treo
does absolutely everything you could imagine; I can game on it, surf
the net, take photos, play MP3s, even play movies. Also, Cingular is a
good match for me because I go through periods of both low and high
use, so banking unused minutes is a good deal for me.
