Quiet Desperation...
I watched part two of the 24 season openers the other day, nuked it from
my Tivo, hit Live TV, and there was Jack Bauer undercover as the weird
doctor in Dark City. :)

Alan Pollock...
Dark City was underrated but excellent. Truly dark and very entertaining. Good
plot, good acting, good scriptwriting, the works. I really liked that one.
Thought it was head and shoulders above The Matrix, which was of the same era.

Oh, the first Matrix wasn't bad, it just didn't have the personality of Dark
City. Dark City tasted like something, it had smell, feeling, character and a
curious beauty, while Matrix offered impersonal stylishness with lots of flash
and game-moves.

(The other Matrix movies? Worse each time. How Did they manage such a smooth
and trouble-free progression into the depths of mediocrity?)

Quiet Desperation...
I dunno. *shrug* I like the whole trilogy, and consider the bad feelings
against it to be something of a viral meme born out of backlash against
the hype.

Jack Bauer's Spunky Sidekick, Ian J. Ball...
Uh uh. The second two movies (*especially* the middle one) were inferior
definitely to the first.

That said, on balance, I like the trilogy.

Dark City stands as one of the greats in my book. Nex
