JV Smith...
OK, I've been giving Friday Night Lights a lot of rope and
last nights episode (Monday 10/30) looked like it was trying
to hang itself. I admit I like this show. But I only liked
about half of what I saw last night.

The show seems to be at it's best when it deals with the
Football team and the team coach and associated problems/drama.
Last night I thought all the scenes dealing with the quarterback
controversy were great and well done. I can even accept the
scenes with the injured quarterbacks girlfriend cheating with
the guys best friend. I do think that they are spending TOO
MUCH time on this storyline though. But what was the deal

Jamie Brinkoeter...
I LOVED the book (but I'm a Texas high school football fan, former football
parent, daughter-in-law of a former NFL qb) but I didn't see the movie. I
saw the TV show for the first time last night and thoroughly enjoyed the
football, coaching and coach's family stuff. I was thinking as soon as
Voodoo said something about getting to LSU -- "uh-oh, Katrina transfer, I'll
bet he's ineligible." I loved the scenes with the assistant coach who
thought the job should have been his. The rest of it was sort of useless
IMO.

with the waitress and her little affair with the guy visiting
from LA? The only connection I can see here is that the waitress
serves food to guys on the football team sometimes. This
storyline is a waste of time and is a BIG distraction from
the rest of the show. With stuff like this I can see why
some would think it was a chick flick type show.

People who would/should like this kind of show don't want to
see the chick show type stuff in big doses. And last night

BTR1701...
I'll put up with it if they show us lots more shots of scantily-clad
Adrianne Padelicki.

EGK...
I believe it's Palicki in case you're looking for pictures. :)

BTR1701...
Yep. And that other one, Lyla, is a biscuit, too. ;-)

this was at least half of the show. Not good!

One good point that should be pointed out is the music on the
show. Whoever picks the music does a good job of matching it
to what's going on. It was a very pleasant surprise to hear
Camera Obscuras' "Let's Get Out Of This Country" last night.
It's nice that they don't just go with the instantly recognizable
songs.
