The senior person mentoring and harassing his young charges.
The endless bit with the teenage daughter.
The Perry Mason last minute court room save.

John Gilmer...
Seems to me that Mason actually had the final insight while questioning the
witness. Shark developed his proof that the girl taped herself while
screening videos in his fancy home. He then sent the tapes out to the
police lab.

IMO: Perry Mason was much more interesting. If "they" had Perry Mason
reruns (in B&W) running against Shark, I would watch Perry Mason.

Where the hell is the...
I used to love it when the " D A " would tell Perry ...." Looks
like an open and
shut case this time ..Perry ...." lol ...

jayembee...
You could always buy the first half of the first season of PERRY
MASON on DVD and play an episode each Thursday night at 10:00pm.
The second half of the first season will be out in November, so
you can keep going for most of the year.

John Gilmer...
Nah!

We have two seasons of The Simpsons on DVD but for some reason I can't
express we much prefer watching the re-runs on TV than loading the DVD.

The snappy, shallow dialog.

I really like James Woods. He is a fine actor and he is definitely entitled
to better writing.

Just my opinion.

Roger Thaat...
Review coincides 100% with my reaction, but I'll probably give it
another week.

However, if the male lead was Frank Nobody instead of James Woods, and
his female foil was Nancy Nowhere instead of Jeri Ryan, would this have
ever made it to air?

Anim8rFSK...
'no' on the james woods part, 'yes' on the jeri ryan part - she doesn't
bring a thing to the party.

deering24...
Because the show's deck is stacked--the whole thing is about making
Shark Mr. All-That most of the time. (Shoot, as much as folks lambast
CSI: MIAMI over the "Horatio--God Among Men!" factor, SHARK is
getting off to an even worse start in this department. :)) Come

David Johnston...
His mannerisms don't annoy me so much.

deering24...
True--one will never be in danger of a neck-ache watching Woods--g!
But at least CSI: MIAMI gives Horatio some adults/strong folks to
have to deal with.

Anim8rFSK...
Yeah. Odd.

chicagofan...
Best of all [@CSI:M], is the photography and scenery, combine that with the
supporting cast... and any B-grade lead actor could do as well. ;)
bj

on--you don't cast lightweights like Ryan and the actors playing
Shark's team if you don't want a firebreather like Woods to chomp
them up every week. HOUSE didn't make this mistake--it's got
characters strong enough to consistently call House on his attitude,
and that's a lot more interesting to watch. Shark needs to face off
with folks like Whitfield and the guy-playing-the-mayor who can bring
some real chops to the party. Or they need to seriously strengthen
the characters on his team. Otherwise it's just THE JAMES WOODS HOUR,
not HOUSE: LEGAL EAGLE.

Anim8rFSK...
Absolutely. Now, the defense attorney (far too convenient he slept with
her) MIGHT have been a worthy adversary, but he chewed her up and spit
her out too. Of course, it IS called 'Shark'
