Rating the Seasons 1963-2006

Without spending hours, if not days, trying to come up
with a precise account of it, here's a simplified version of
how I rate all the seasons I've sat through. Skimming
through the lineups, I gauged my sense of how much
viewing satisfaction I derived from the programming at the
time combined with the overall quality of the programming
at the time, as it related to each of the seasons, not
comparing them by 2006 standards. This grading applies
to only network programming for consistency's sake.

The grading is kept simple:
A indicates that about 3/4 or so of the combined networks'
lineups were, at the least, satisfactory entertainment of
satisfactory quality.
B indicates that about 1/2 or so was satisfactory.
C indicates about 1/3 or so.
D indicates less than a 1/4 or so.

The grading for each season is loosely arrived at and
could still be very much fine-tuned, but it's sort of
accurate in a very general sense for each Full season, not
just the fall. It begins with 1963, the first full season I can
attest to.
