5.7 in households, but a point higher in the 18-49 [3.8 to
2.8], but still off 2.4 in households from its lead-in, just as
Smith was.

But did you notice that a REPEAT of CSI managed to outdo last week's
episode of Smith?

That's already happening...on TNT and USA networks.

So many of the TV critics who got an early look at "Studio 60" were
singing its
praises and calling it the can't miss hit of the new season.
Problem is that the premise of the show is too much "Hollywood insider"
and the
average viewer just can't related to it.

And that was my fear come true. Will these dolts in Hollywood ever
learn?

The first episode of Studio 60 was good, but none of the later episodes seem
to be measuring up to that one (though this week's wasn't that bad). The
real problem is the phoniness of the fake audience's reaction to the lame
jokes. It's just too over the top. They're pretending that the fake show is
funny and it's coming across as unrealistic.

But that is realistic. In the real world the live audiences laugh it up at
stuff that is not funny. How much more realistic could it be? Having the
live audience NOT laugh would be unrealistic.

When I watch TV, I don't want to "relate" to what's on screen. I want to
see something new and different. Not something I experience every day.

Anyone remember "The amazing Teddy Z" (I think that was the title) it
was a comedy
about a Hollywood talent agent. It was a flop I believe mainly due to
being too much
of an insider joke that the average person couldn't relate to.
hollywood insider.

Far, far worse. Action rocked.

Werd. Just the Sandra Bullock episode alone was reason enough for
that show to exist...

Oh, I loved Action, I thought it mocked and towed the edge just enough.

That's why a cop show has to be exceptional (like "The Shield") to hold
my interest.
