Howard U. Dewing...
He's had a long a successful career, working more than 40 years at the
same place. He's made millions and is 70ish. Why would anyone care that
his employer has decided not to rehire him?

Does he really think that he's so great that citizens will find gapping
holes in their lives if they don't see him on TV again?

weberm...
Obviously, he does.

stonej...
He is a celebrity so the "caring" is more or less interest in what is
going on in his
life as a public figure. He is leaving on less than friendly terms
with CBS and there
is some bitterness from him. Can't say I really blame him, this isn't
the way he
wanted to see his career wind down and I think he has been unfairly
treated.

I'm sure he feels he has something to say that people will find
interesting, as far
as "gapping" holes I wouldn't put it to that degree. :)

eatfastnoodle...
Old people often act childishly.

Rick...
Similar thing happened to Cronkite. After he left the Evening News, he was
pretty much never heard from again. The networks prefer young blood...

ANIM8Rfsk...
Hey, now, he had a featured part in "We're Back A Dinosaurs Story" which is
one of the worst animated films ever made.
