It didn't creep me out. Sara's in her mid-30's, Grissom is in his
mid-50's. And late-bloomer-level shy. This qualifies as a textbook

It didn't creep me out either. How do you know Grissom is 53? I
thought he was 49 (Petersen's age). I thought he'd end up either with
Brass' daughter or with Katherine, when it's been obvious since the
series started he had a thing for Sara. All in all, this has been a
believable slow-burn romance, unlike, say, Mulder and Scully way back
in the 90's.

Hmmm, I don't think they have a "mysterious past." I agree that in the
season finale, they looked like they were accustomed to being together,
but I don't think it's been going on as long as we've been seeing Sara
turning to Gil for support. I could believe months, but not years. At
least, I hope it hasn't been long, and he'll come to his senses soon. :-)

I think he meants they may have had a fling some time in the past but have

I thought in an early episode, when she first showed up, it was
because they had worked together before, and she expected that they
would immediately reestablish some relationship, and then was
disappointed when they did not. And that this has been revisited
about twice a season. Maybe I imagined the whole thing, I see most
episodes out of sequence, and partially, on repeats.

seemed to suggest they had been lovers in the past.

In that light, this would be as much about her as him, at least. And
a healthy reaction to Brass's survival.

That was my thought. It was a reaction to what had happened, and there
had been hints in the past that would make it less than a random pairing.

I think several of us are seeing this completely differently. You are
assuming this was their first time together (in reaction to Brass's
survival), while I think that their dialogue indicates that this has
been going on for awhile -- perhaps a long time -- and we're just
finding out about this now.

I just watched an episode from a few weeks back out of order (the one
with the red Ferrari/planned encounter) and there were definitely a
number of foreshadowing looks between Grissom and Sara that take on a
whole new meaning after seeing the finale.

Comparing this to the garbage on the Grey's Anatomy finale, I'll go
with this.

That makes three of us. I watched one or two episodes, found it to be
the antithesis of the original as far as atmosphere, thought the cast
was absolutely forgettable, and wonder who exactly compiles those
ratings.

Like you, I wonder why I still tune in when nothing else is on, and I think
I've determined it's because of the laughs I get from Caruso's posturing and
affected deliveries so often. He's like a caricature of an *actor*,
screaming look at me. ;)

OTOH, since 'ships aren't and never should be the main point of any
CSI, if they do too much of this next season and they might have some
problems on their hands. Esepcially against Grey's. Next year is IMO
going to be the make or break year for the continuation of the show
over the long-term.

There is nothing going on with grissmo and cath. Season 6 was the only
season we didn't see her with a boyfriend. She's been dating other men
the entire time and flirting with Warrick in between all of that.
