Is there a genre of show you absolutely can not stand?

The rating doesnt matter, the acting doesnt matter, the actor/actress
in the show doesnt matter, the plot doesnt matter, in short, no matter
what, you just can't stand watching it even for one second.

Professor bing bing...
Anaything with space monsters, i.e. Sci FI.

chicagofan...
This may get me thrown out of RATS ... but it's SCI-FI for me.

Tony Calguire...
1. The Western
2. The "Goomba" genre

ANIM8Rfsk...
Has anybody ever made a "Goomba" western?

bklyntv...
Certainly. They were known as "Spaghetti Westerns."

My choice: Talent search shows.

ANIM8Rfsk...
So you're not enjoying LIFETIME then?

Steven L....
Hey, there was one show on Oxygen that even guys could enjoy: "Girls
Behaving Badly" (recently syndicated to WB). Kind of a feminine version
of Candid Camera.

ANIM8Rfsk...
I think Oxygen shows stuff other than "Women in jeopardy/men are slime"
shows, although you also have Lifetime movies, which shows nothing else
either.

Russell Watson...
Once in a great, great while I will run across one I find tolerable in
small doses, but as a general rule I hate sitcoms with a passion.
Popular and critically acclaimed shows I can't stand:
Seinfeld
Friends
Cheers
Frasier
Everybody Loves Raymond
My Name is Earl

Russell Watson...
I may be one of 5 people alive who don't care for Earl (I'm around
real redneck/white trash/trailer park people day in and day out, and
am even related to some, so maybe it just isn't that funny to me
because it's too close to reality as I know it), but most of the
people I know didn't like Ray. The very few I know who did watch it
liked it for Peter Boyle and/or the big goofy dude who played his
brother (can't think of his name right now, and the ads for his new
show don't look funny, either). I saw bits and pieces where Boyle was
definitley amusing, but Ray put a wet blanket on the whole deal for
me. I can't stand anything about him.

Casey McDonald's Guidance Counsellor, Ian J. Ball...
You and I could *never* share a TV! :o

Ian (Who considers the 'Lifetime' genre of movies as some of the best
'guilty pleasures' on TV. ;> )

I personally dont hate reality shows as much as some of you might do,
I enjoy Survivor and the first couple of seasons of The Apprentice, but
i just can't convince myself to watch talent shows like American Idol,
American Next Top model, or the Last Comic Standing, even under the
pressure of my friends many of them are following those shows
religiously. I have hated shows before, but before the arrival of
talent shows, a whole genre of show has never been so repellent to me,
I have hated sitcoms, I have loathed dramas, but I hate one particular
sitcom or one particular drama, I never hate the whole genre, until
American Idol forced itself into my TV.

bklyntv...
People singing on TV. Don't actively hate it so much as apathetic. I'd
rather read a book.

Henry...
1. Sports programming. And not just football or baseball or hockey: I
hate ALL televised sports of any description whether it is team sports,
Olympics, tiddly-winks or anything else that is generally called a
sport.
2. Reality shows, including talent shows, makeover shows, and all the
rest of that nonsense.
3. Music videos. I love music but have no appreciation for music
videos; they have always seemed utterly vacuous to me.
4. Religious programming. I don't want any religious person shoving
their views, whatever they might be, at me. I have my own set of values
and have zero interest in theirs.
5. Commercials and pledge breaks on public TV channels.
6. Informercials.

There are probably several more things I could add but this will do for
a start.

chicagofan...
Reality/talent shows are close second for me. I have watched parts of 2
reality shows since this genre began, Rock Star:INXS and Dancing with the
Stars [1st season]. I felt the *fix* was in on the dancing show, so I
didn't watch the next season; but I loved the rock show, except for the
outcome. :\ I'll probably check it out again, and see if they have as much
talent this year.
