wdstarr...
As near as I can figure out from the zap2it's current data, WSBK
in Boston will be pre-empting the new V. Mars episode that's
supposed to appear on Wednesday January 25th, "Donut Run" in
favor of a vitally important Boston College basketball game[1].

David...
Oh is VM finally coming out of hibernation? Geez that was a long
break.

1: "By the way, that was sarcasm."

Ian J. Ball...
Spoken like someone who's not a March Madness fan.

evwill...
Well, it's not March Madness but I don't blame the station for wanting
to show a Boston College game at North Carolina. That's a fairly decent
matchup.

Everett W.

They do _not_ appear to be re-scheduling the V.Mars broadcast
for later in the evening/early the next morning, or for any
other time.

They _are_ going to show it in its regularly scheduled "instant
rerun" slot the following Saturday, the 28th, at 10pm. This will

ANIM8Rfsk...
On the other hand, Phoenix is currently scheduled to actually get VM in it's
actual time slot. We seem to have a 50/50 chance of it being prempted.

Barry Margolin...
Why, does your UPN affiliate have a contract with a sports team to show
all their games?

William George Ferguson...
They've had the contract to broadcast Phoenix Suns road games since before
UPN existed. In point of fact, tonights VM rerun is bumped by a Suns game
(the WB station has the Phoenix Coyotes (hockey) contract, which, of
course, wasn't a real problem last year.

Barry Margolin...
And here in Boston, WSBK has had a similar contract with the Bruins (I
think) since the days of the original Minutemen.

jayembee...
Yes, it's the Bruins. And it's given them SuperStation status
in other parts of the country (and Canada)

The problem with the UPN45's scheduling is that they can almost certainly
make more from a Suns broadcast than from any show UPN offers, even
including Rasslin and Top Model. The Suns are insanely popular in
Phoenix, are currently leading their division, and are fun to watch

Ian J. Ball...
You mean the Suns lead the division, after the Clippers threw away their
early lead... ;p

because they score a lot, and then they score some more (they've led the
league in scoring for over 2 years).
