Austin Powers 3 - a lousy movie

Just sitting here watching the rerun on FOX. Austin 3 Goldmember was a
lousy (read: boring/ non-funny) movie. The only highlight was the

mmaker...

Weird. I thought it was the only watchable movie of the three.

opening 10 minutes, after which it devolves into a dreary clone of the
superior parts 1 and 2.

And what's the deal with that Goldmember guy peeling off & eating his
own skin? What the...?!?!? That's not funny; it's sick.

Yeah, repeated viewings have diminished the greatness of AP:Goldmember.

However, there are many good moments and things about it:

I was watching "The Ipcress File" this week, and obviously in
that Michael Caine plays a very different secret agent, more like
Ian Fleming's role in WWII than James Bond. But seeing the film,
it's clear wear the idea of having Austin Powers wearing glasses comes
from. And then "Harry Palmer" appears in this third Austin Powers
film.

Austin Powers was NEVER a Bond parody in terms of the principal
character. But most people forget the second string Bond imitators and
the spy parodies of the 60s -- Mike Myers plainly didn't. But AP: GM
does pretty much suck ass. Except for the first ten minutes. And
Beyonce.

You got that right. I loved 1 & 2, but fell asleep 1/3 of the way through 3.

Well it isn't as good as the first two but it probably plays much
worse on FOX if they had to edit out 75% of the jokes.

I purchased the uncut-DVD a few years ago, and it was not any better.
That's why I sold it as quickly as possible.
