CBS is historically the most conservative of the Big Networks. ABC is
historically the most daring. NBC has usually held the middle ground.
KoshN...

What? I thought NBC was historically the most daring (e.g. NYPD Blue).
Donna B...

Uh, NYPDB was on ABC.

NYPDB?
New York Police Department Butt?
Donna B...

NYPD Blue, same show KoshN referred to, simply the acronym/abbreviation
often used for it.

As others pointed out, "NYPD Blue" was aired on ABC, not NBC.
That was the first non-cable show to feature moderate nudity in Prime
Time. Years earlier, ABC launched the "Jiggle Factor" era with
"Charlie's Angels" and "Three's Company".

Sipowitz's bare flabby ass.

And, NYPDB used language that hadn't been used before. And, once it did, it
gave other shows license to do so as well.
