That was one fanfrellingtastic move by the Galactica!
Way to go Big G!
stocksami...
|
Definitely the best episode yet!
|
Ron...
|
I think that is the coolest thing I've ever seen a ship in Sci Fi do,
awesome!
What did Adama say, "prepare for turbulence", that was an
understatement.
Clell Harmon...
|
Just the idea that they can spin up their FTL drives in an atmosphere
boggles my mind.... Most SF drives require you to be well clear of the
gravity well, some well clear of the stars gravity well. Wow.

You just gotta be careful you don't jump INSIDE a mountain or another flying
object, but man that was breath-taking. Plus they set it up previously by
having raptors jump increasingly closer to planetary surfaces. Big G jumping
in like some kind cosmic surfboard was awesome.

Andrew Venor...
|
They did establish that a Raptor could jump into a planets atmosphere
last season in the episode Lay Down Your Burdens. However they did
surprise me by having a Battlestar do it. I did thought it was a nice
bit of detail when they had the air rush up to fill the vacuum the
Galactica left behind when it jumped.

Was anyone else thinking of that line from "Serenity"?
"Attention crew -- we may experience some turbulence... then explode."
"Uh, Cap'n... I don' wanna explode."
Jason Maxwell...
|
No (though I should have) but when they released the drones I was thinking
"Cry baby cry"
Ron...
|
I watched it again and actually the line was "brace for
turbulence"....a great line for what was about to happen.
And when I saw the drones only one show came to mind, Stargate.
Ken from Chicago...
|
Same here. Tho Stargate's Ancient drones are more glowy.
|
|
|
Very cool move, though. I noticed that the Vipers who dropped
Boomer off in the previous episode also did a jump into the
atmosphere, right close to the ground.

Right, I didn't think that was a problem, all the ships were jumping to
a known location ... though is that equivalent to the Tigh problem.
Anyway, this is over analysising. The jump drives work according to
the plot :).
Ken from Chicago...
|
A logical tactic would be to preposition raptors at various escape points
and signal the big G which ones were safe to jump back to and which ones
were occupied.
|
|
|
Mathussic...
|
Absolutely! That was the most awesome maneuver I've seen a SciFi ship

Captain Sheridan says hello.
Joetheone...

"And Adama descended from the heavens in the flames of his wrath, to wreak
vengence on the Cylon opperssor, and save the righteous."

I'm going to have to quote you on that one.
Joetheone...
|
Why, thank you. Kind of proud of it, actually. Quote away!

Too bad we don't have Lorne Green to do a voice over.

For some reason, I was, too.

do. The visuals were awesome in this episode. Acting was top-notch as well.
This episode basically paid for my entire month's cable subscription. I
taped it so I can watch it again tomorrow.
Only caveat is that at the end of the episode they showed the Galactica
with the rest of the fleet and it did not appear damaged at all. It was

The same technology Voyager used.

getting pounded so hard in battle I thought it was going to be
destroyed, but thankfully, the Galactica survived. I think we all knew

They would have had to change the name of the show.
I think we all knew at some point

at some point the Pegasus was going to be destroyed.
David B...

Yep. But I expected it to last longer so this episode surprised me.

Can't have two Battlestars, now can we?
