"EZ Streets" DVD release

I don't recall seeing this mentioned yet, but my attention was
just brought to a March 3rd posting on TVShowsonDVD.com about
the upcoming release of Paul Haggis's intense and fascinating
series "EZ Streets" on DVD. Or at least, part of it.

Gord followed up with this article with more details:

It's coming out on May 16th, and is the first in a new line
of DVDs from Universal that plays off Trio's "Brilliant But
Cancelled" lineup. Although with Trio now gone, I see that
Universal has put Bravo's logo on the cover. Has Bravo begun
running some of the "BBC" series?

Anyway, great news for TV fans in general and PH fans in particular!

The articles aren't terribly specific. Are they at least releasing them in
chronological order and not a random sample? Since I don't have money to

"Universal will include three episodes of the series on the DVD set,
including the double-length pilot. The episodes are:

* Pilot (2 hours)
* Every Dog has its Day
* One Acquainted with the Night"

Do you know if those 2 episodes immediately follow the pilot? I'm afraid
I'm not familiar with the titles and their places in the batting order. And
when I caught the series on Trio, they screwed up the chronology, so I just
don't know what's what. ;)

Thank you very kindly for the info. As EZ Streets is one definite story
arc, I can't see how this DVD release strategy makes a whole lot of sense.
If they wouldn't release the entire series, or at least the first episodes,
why couldn't they just release the pilot as a market test? This seems like
such a reckless use of disc space.

burn, I wouldn't appreciate having to buy 'repeats' in order to get the full
series - assuming they eventually release all the episodes....which they'd
better!

But it looks like we're stuck. If we don't buy this initial release,
they'll think there's no interest in the show and certainly won't release
the remainder of it. At least it's fairly cheap at DVD Pacific.
