I have just this minute seen one of these 'big huckin chicken' ads for
Burger King you've been talking about.
First, it actually says
huckinchicken.com
down in the corner of the screen, so at least we know for sure what
they're saying.
but
WHAT THE HELL?
This has the chicken jumping a motorcycle off a ramp. (I take it there
are other versions?)

I've seen that ad a bunch of times but I never noticed any
"huckinchicken.com" on the screen; maybe that's a recent addition.
Without that clue, I've never been able to figure out what the words
are supposed to be. I keep hearing "Think again, chicken..."

Sigh. I went to the url. It's some lame 'making of' video. Don't
bother.

The original was "Big BUCKIN' Chicken and had the chicken about the
size of a small horse in a corral and some cowboys who looked like
homos on the range attempting to ride it and getting bucked off. One
of the older spectator guys they focus on momentarily looks like a
western cousin of the guys from "Deliverance".

Oh, well, THAT makes me hungry :\

There are also multiple versions of the Moto-X one out now that are of
varying lengths. In one he appears to be actually racing, while in
another one he looks like he's alone doing the so-called freestyle
stuff where they do flips, dismount/remount the bike in mid-air, etc.

Do any of them make you crave chicken?
Russell Watson...
|
Not me. I ate at BK for lunch today, but had a Double Whopper w/cheese
and onion rings. For chicken sandwiches the local place that makes the
best ones is Hardee's, which also has the benefit of only being 4
blocks from my house. I can walk or bike up there and back and then I
don't feel quite so guilty about having had fast food.

Is this supposed to, in any way shape or form, make me want to go
anywhere NEAR a Burger King?
'cause boy howdy, it's sure having the opposite effect.

It's a perfect targeting mechanism for the lower class, who they derive
much of
their business from. But hey! Wendy's (at least in Canada) did
apparently stop using
trans-fat laced cooking oil. I have to admit, the commercial has
grabbed people's
attention.
Anim8rFSK...
|
Yeah, but when you're grabbing attention followed by "I'll never go
there" it might not be your best strategy.
|
|
It may not be the worst commercial ever, but it's so far down there it
doesn't really matter.
