if the alligator had turned around, would the contestant's life be in

No, the alligator was strapped to the floor, it could not move.

I can't see how the alligator could turn around in that space. The ones
I've seen at the zoo seemed to need a certain radius. It's probably how
they ensured the contestants were safe.

(I didn't read the article so I'm not sure what it said about it...I
really have had enough of Jonathon's "poor me" attitude.)

Nope, unless they stuck their hand right up to the face....or if the
strap they held it down with broke. Even then it would be hard for the
alligator to actually turn around.

It looked like a robot alligator to me. Think about it, would the
network risk the liability of a real one?

It was real, it was strapped down to the floor. It couldn't move or turn around.

Nope...it's on as a summer fill-in this time. Last night's episode was
considerably better than I expected in spite of J & V...3 parter so
thank goodness those two showed their true colors and flaked.
