Here are some wrestling news items for you:
- Shelton Benjamin regained the I-C belt on Raw Monday night,
winning a five-man Texas Tornado match in which both John Cena's WWE
title and the I-C title were on the line (initially, it was supposed to
have been Cena and Triple H, but Vince came out and changed it before
that started.
- As mentioned earlier here, WWE is close to signing a deal with the
revived ECW on the Sci-Fi channel and could begin as early as next
month. Many original ECW stars like Sabu and the Sandman have signed
on, and rumors are that Mr. KENNEDY...KENNEDY and (get this!) Eric
Bischoff will appear as the lead heels.
- Kane's movie, See No Evil, comes out tomorrow in a modest 1,000
theaters (The DaVinci Code will premiere in over 3,700 and Over the
Hedge, 3,800.)
- TNA Sacrifice results from Sunday in Orlando included Christian
Cage defeating the Monster Abyss in a Full Metal Mayhem match, Sting
the Crow & Samoa Joe (who tore up his knee on Monday's iMPACT! tapings)
defeated Jeff Jarrett & Scott Steiner with Joe's Muscle Buster, and
Petey Williams put Team Canada in a tie with Team USA in the Team X Cup
with a win in a gauntlet match.
