It's sad considering the amount of effort that went into synchronizing both
the SG1 and SGA crews for the SG1 ep that immediately proceeded it that this
episode aired right after such a strong SG1 ep. I like balance as much as

Not to mention if you only wanted to buy the season box set of SG-1 you
would also have to buy the Atlantis season set to catch the part two of
the story.

Law and Order/Homicide: Life on the Streets did a few of those. When
TNT shows the eps, both are included as if it was a back-to-back Law
and Order.

Actually I think TNT only started doing that this year. In the past I
remember only being able to catch only the L&O part of the story on TNT.
Or only the Homicide part when the two parter was on Court TV. And
the channels never synced up their schedules to make it even harder.

the next person, but the 180 degree turn from such a strong, riveting, and
bittersweet episode of SG1 which ended on a very dramatic note to the
light-hearted SGA was simply too jarring.
It just set SGA for a major backlash akin to a clown showing up right after
the stirring memorial for a famous and influential and popular person. Clown

You are incapable of switching gears during the 2-minute commercial
break?
And in the long-term, it won't matter. SG1/SGA are usually not shown
back-to-back in reruns or on DVD.

may be nice, but the timing stinks. So too with SGA's "Irresistible" showing
up right after SG1's "The Pegasus Project".
Worse it airs right after last week's episode where if not protocols were
breached at least common sense was. The doctor failed to learn from MacKay's

Um, maybe--if there was a 2-minute or even 1-minute or 1-second commercial
break between the two shows.

adventures in wraithsitting about being all alone surrounded by wraith while
being cut off from Atlantis. This episode had protocols being breached and
the doctor acting all goofy.
You'd think the "protocols" the doctor helped design would have considered
the possibility of mind controls, chameleons, goaulds, etc., if nothing else
from the SGC's experience with same, to institute some kind of medical exam
of the doctor. Natch, being a designer of said exams, the doctor could have
evaded or skewed the results, but at least the show would have made the
attempt to avoid have the characters so many flaws in three episodes in a
row.
