TV Guide's Ausiello "hears" that it'll move to Sundays at 8 in
January.

I don't care what day it is on, as long as it hangs in there. It is my
favorite show made all the more remarkable because I don't watch or
even like football. Last night's episode, involving Smash and the
recruiter, was another good one. Even the bits of football game on
their own are okay, but it is getting to know the characters that makes
it absorbing. I feel like they are real people, who really live in that
Texas town. I relate to each of them, even though I have little in
common with them. In a lot of TV drama, I find myself correctly
predicting things, but this show has lots of twists.
The acting is so good, I don't doubt several of the actors on this show
are going to be in big demand. I like how they speak in a natural
manner, and just some of the little things...Matt's sidekick eating an
apple while he's driving. The after-party scene where Tim's brother has
fallen asleep on the hood of a car and is drooling on the windshield as
he wakes up. Matt stumbling through asking the daughter of the coach
out on a date. Lyla and Jason in the therapy pool. In that one short
scene, there's tension, romance, and a kind of unforced peace. Drama
that flows and at freezes time for brief periods.
My favorite characters based on acting skill:
Matt, Tim, Matt's best friend,Coach's daughter, Coach, Lyla, the town
slut, Coach's wife, Jason, Smash but even the small parts and guest
roles are acted well. Every single one of the actors is a better actor
than Tom Cruise. Maybe not quite as good looking, but they all have
interesting faces. The town slut is beautiful. Tim reminds one of
Brando.
The episodes are so good that I always record while watching and watch
them over, and I like some scenes so much, I'll watch them multiple
times. I watched the first episode five times. I rarely watch most TV
shows more than once, even ones I like, such as House.
The writing and directing is outstanding too.
