Rhino...
I just came across an article on Zap2It that mentions a term I had never
heard before: "stripped" dramas. Here is the article:

The relevant sentence is in the third sentence:

The excitement surrounding the emerging genre of stripped dramas
continues to build as we add 'A Dangerous Love,' 'Watch over Me' and
'Art of Betrayal' to our primetime slate," says Paul Buccieri, head of
programming at Twentieth Television, whose parent News Corp. owns MyNetwork.

So, what's a "stripped" drama?

SoHillsGuy...
In syndication terminology, a 'stripped' series is one that will air
five days a week (usually Monday-Friday).

Steven L....
It's no longer used just for syndication.

With Larry King Live (CNN) and O'Reilly Factor (Fox News) running 5
nights a week, I've heard the term "strip show" applied to those shows too.

Presumably, in this context, the idea is to create a drama that will
air in syndication much like an afternoon soap.

I'm guessing that it's some sort of bodice-ripper soap-opera story....

If anyone knows for sure, I'd be curious to know; I like to keep current on
the industry jargon, even if this isn't my kind of show.
