why did Meridith Viera Start on Weds?

I mean, she's been off the View for months. She couldn't have started
on Monday? Just curious it seems odd. I've always started new jobs on
Monday, but I'm not international superstar (yet).

It didn't make sense for her to start this past Monday, since the show
likely devoted much air time to a somber topic, the 9/11 anniversary. That
would have clashed with Meredith smearing frosting on Matt's nose, and Matt
slamming Bryant. You'd think they would have started her the Tuesday after
Labor Day. But I'm sure Wednesday is Today's traditionally highest rated day
of the week or something like that.

I'm sure it wasn't a random decision.

Same reason I like starting new jobs mid-week, probably. It's
stressful and overwhelming, and making the first week short is a good
thing.
