At least that's how they do it here in the States.
You'd think they had learned from Eccleston to lock in actors--especially
your LEAD ACTORS--but noooo.

Errr--why should the Brits have to do things like we do them here in
the States? It's not like there's that much sterling content coming out
of US TV today, except for HOUSE.
Eccleston signed up for a year, period.
Billie Piper is going on to do the lead in adaptations of Philip
Pullman's Sally Lockhart trilogy, which was very popular in
Britain--heck, I loved the books myself and hope the trilogy is shown
here. They're "cracking good" Victorian adventures. Not surprised that
she jumped at the chance.

What about K-9's voice change for a time, doesn't that count as a
different dog/companion? I know I didn't like it when it happened and
was happy when Leeson returned.
