I had assumed that in the scene where Joy was playing pool and made fun
of her opponent's boob job, that the opponent was Catalina. They never
showed her from the front, just close up from the sode so we could see
said boobs.

Oh, no, they definitely showed her from the front. And for quite a bit of
screen time, too. It was definitely not Catalina. (Yes, I just checked
my downloaded copy.)

Remember that the flashback was from when Earl and Joy were still
married, and neither Earl nor Joy had met Catalina until Earl and
Randy moved into the motel.

You must have been staring at her boobs for too long because they did show
the woman's face. :-) As someone said before, it wasn't Catalina.

I like Catalina, but I got the sense last season that they didn't
really know what to do with her. Maybe they could give her some of her
own storylines this year, rather than just having her occasionally tag
along on the boys' adventures.

My guess is that an Earl-Catalina romance is probably in the cards
somewhere down the line, but they've resisted even hinting at that so
far.
