The "24" Hype Overload

This show is so unremarkable and predictable. It is astonishing how
many people have now bought into the hype.

No, what is sickening is when people buy into the hype that is known as
American Idol. Why this is FOX's highest rated show, I'll never know.

The best they had to offer (Clay Aiken and Bo Bice) still can't hold a
candle to talented singers such as Billy Joel, Steve Perry from
Journey, or Rob Thomas from MB-20.

And yet the sheeple faithfully tune in, every Tues and Wed, thinking
this is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

24 is the best scripted drama to hit the airwaves in recent TV history.
Whereas Idol belongs on a channel like MTV.

when other people watch a show they like it's because they're mindless

I gave it two years. The first was fresh, the second coasted on the
on-screen talent and the bank of cliches. It was fun watching the Kim
storyline implode. Year three started out at the same level of
hysteria, but the actors looked like they'd stopped believing it six
months before, and Sutherland's cyborg Lee Marvin bit was getting
ridiculous.

And hey-- the reviews are in already:

"I'm afraid I'll look uncool, so I better watch this show." - Typical
