I saw that very first televised episode 40 years ago today "Man Trap"
where aliens disguised themselves as beautiful women in order to suck
salt out of humans by touching their fingers to their face. I didn't

One alien, the last of it's species, that disguised itself as men or
women or whatever it took to lure you in.

know anything about it until my older sister
mentioned that she wanted to see this new science fiction show starting
tonight that
she heard was pretty good. Saw it in good old black and white as we
didn't have
a color TV at that time. The rest as they say is history. :)

TV Land is showing that first episode starting at 8:00 PM tonight
along with two other Trek episodes following.

Three other episodes.

Ubiquitous...
I thought the first ep was "Where No Man...".

John Baker...
First filmed (after the pilot), but not first aired.

Alas, I was unable to watch the premiere because I was being born at the
time.

stonej...
The first episode filmed might have been "Where no man...." but the
first one shown
on TV Sept. 8, 1966 was definitely "The man trap". I can guarantee
you that is correct.

I believe "Where no man...." was first shown a few weeks later.

Anim8rFSK...
The first aired episode was "The Man Trap" aka "The Incredible Salt
Vampire" because NBC wanted a monster show.

The first filmed episode was the first pilot, Star Trek, later referred
to as "The Cage"

The second filmed episode was the second pilot, the first Shatner show,
"Where No Man Has Gone Before"

The first filmed production episode was "The Corbomite Manuever"

So take your choice :-)
