CBS Wins Week 1

Going by the overnight numbers, not the finals which
come out later this week, it looks like CBS won the
first week of the season. The 5-net breakdown goes
like this:

CBS 8.2
ABC 7.9
NBC 6.9
FOX 4.4
CW 1.8

CW was still mostly in repeat form, but once originals
kick in, then it'll do what I earlier predicted it will do -
not much better than a 3 average.

And what was UPN/WB doing in October of 2005?

The Top 6 New Scripted Shows [7 rating or better]:

ABC 10.6 Brothers & Sisters
CBS 9.8 Shark
ABC 8.6 Six Degrees
NBC 8.6 Studio 60
CBS 7.5 Jericho
CBS 7.2 Smith

Meanwhile, Sunday Night Football came in with a 7.9

Interestingly, 4 of the Top 6 are the same shows I myself
have graded the highest so far in my mini-critiques.

Wow...4 of 6...and just how many new hour long scripted shows are there to
choose from?

The only difference being that I've also given top marks to
Kidnapped while Brothers & Sisters, along with Six
Degrees, got bottom-of-the-barrel scores from me.

So, 2 of the top 3 you thought sucked while 2 sucky shows not even in the
Top6 got high marks from you.

Kidnapped is clearly hands down the much better series
over both B&S and SD. Anyway, so much for not being
"in tune" with viewers' tastes in general. And to think
