I am reading the 4 part series The Lost Slayer and there is a ghost that
is mentioned to have appeared before and mainly to Willow. Her name is
Lucy Hanover. I cannot recall her in the show?

That's because she never appeared in any episodes. WB did a brief two
minute "History of the Slayer" promo before the first episode aired.
That was the only on-air mention of Lucy Hanover. Holder and Golden
liked her though, and used her in a bunch of their books.

From what I understand, there was an intro to the original pilot which may
have been cut and never shown which mentions her. She was the Slayer during
the civil war. Put the name into web-search and you'll have more than you
wanted to know.

What episode(s) did she appear in? Also a lot of the first book takes
place on Sunnydale wharf. There is a wharf? Can't recall that in the
episodes either

Sunnydale had a bus station, train depot, seaport and airport by season 6.

Buffy and Faith's encounter at the end of "Consequences" takes place on
the Sunnydale wharves. Sunnydale is a coastal town.

Except when it's in the middle of the desert. ;-)

It's a coastal desert.

It's a mountainous coastal desert. With snow.
Don Sample...

Only magic Christmas snow.

It's a miracle!

Does California have a lot of 2000 foot elevation piers?

i was at lake tahoe one winter
with snow and ice and seagulls hanging out on the docks
at 4580 feet
Anim8rFSK...

Oh, yeah, I forgot the Tahoe side of the Pacific ocean.
|
Jeff Jacoby...
|
Which is interesting, because the lake's
elevation is 6225 ft.

I don't know who Lucy Hanover is, the only ghost I remember appearing
to Willow was Cassie Newton. However, I seem to recall there was a
character with this name in The Ghosts of Albion.
There was a wharf. We saw Buffy seeing Angel off in Birthday. What was
never explained was why the Pacific Ocean didn't pour into the giant
hole left when Sunnydale sank.

Only thing i can think of there is that the cave-in didnt go as far as
the ocean. We may get an answer to this however as Joss Whedon says

If I recall properly there's an elevation sign in the episode where
Drusilla arrives on the train ... but I don't recall what the elevation
is supposed to be.
|
the upcoming Buffy comic will be a DeFacto season 8.

The wharf shows up just a couple times in the show, both during season 3 I
think. Sunnyvale seems to grow whatever the story requires. *
