Infommercials with callers

Here's another thing on TV that's a lie, infommercials with callers.
Who is this supposed to trick, old people who are too detached from
reality to know any better? Something that's pre-recorded once and

Yes, along with young people and middle-aged people who are too
detached from reality to know any better.

played over and over again at different times of the day can't have
people calling in to it.

There are a couple infommercials like this. They're presented like
fake talk shows, and one of the people on it is called a "guest". At
least back in the days of Amazing Discoveries they could sort of
honestly say it was "another episode of ..." because there were
multiple episodes, each with a different product. Yes, the audience
was fake, but at least there were no fake phone calls.

years.

And the idea isn't that different from the "live studio audience" who
cheer the spiel guy.
