Curtis Quits Acting

Los Angeles (AP) -- Jamie Lee Curtis said she has closed the book on
her acting career.

"I'm not an actor anymore," she told TV"s 'Access Hollywood'.

ken_wood56...
I never thought she was.

"I really don't imagine I'll do that again."

Curtis, 46, went on to ramble (say): "I'm just focused on my family and
just can't imagine anything that's going to pull me away from them
right now."

mikeha.ca...
The only reason actors try and pull this "retirement" stunt is in hopes
of getting enough attention that someone will offer them big $ for a
movie or TV series. She doesn't want to retire, she just can't get
anything good, so this announcement gets her more attention in the
media, and thus a better chance of some producer hiring her.

Greg Bryant...
Hmmmm, seemed to remember Jane Fonda "retired" then came back for
Monster-In-Law (and what a terrible movie to come back for :-( ).

Curtis is promoting (her latest feeble attempt at) her latest
children's book, Is There A Human Race?

Obveeus...
If she had been watching BSG she would already know that there is a race and
the humans are currently losing.

BTR1701...
That would be a species, not a race.

Taylor...
PLEASE...!!! APOLOGIZE FOR: 'Christmas with the Kranks' (2004) and

Obveeus...
No silly. It is a race between humans and cylons. Last one standing wins.

that tanning bed scene. *shudders*

Greg Bryant...
Couldn't make any headway with your diatribe against Keisha Castle-Hughes,

deering24...
This is funny coming from someone slamming an actress for her lack of
class...

deering24...
Is that what she was trying to be? Looks like she just wants to
continue acting...

deering24...
Because if she doesn't go all sackcloth and ashes to appease the
mysogynistic likes of you, you'll (try to) raise all kinds of hell.

(In case you hadn't noticed, nobody cares...)

so now you're going after Jamie Lee Curtis?

Do you hate women with three names, or just all women in general?

wdstarr...
Only all women who are more successful than he is.

(Why yes, that _is_ a straight line...)

nimue...
Good question. I think Taylor's just miserable and jealous and needs to
take it out on someone who won't retaliate. You know, I just watched A Fish
Called Wanda again, too. Everyone was so great in that movie.

Greg Bryant...
This line from an article Taylor just posted best describes him:

"There is a wonderful old expression `empty vessels make the most
noise' and it would appear that a lot of these listen and contribute to
talkback programmes."

mystique...
I love AFCW too! and have you ever seen the non-sequel to it (same exact
actors but totally different storyline and roles) called Fierce Creatures?
That's one of the most pee-on-yourself-laugh-till-it-hurts movies ever!

I saw a snippet of the interview in which Jamie Lee Curtis said all of the
above -- I forget what show she was on. She's a real funny, honest, breath
of fresh air. And she looks fabulous -- I know I'd be hesitant to make the
rounds with a grey pixie haircut!
