The reason it came up was that we're watching "How I Met ..." and it looks
like the "Bad Boss" is Malcolm's dad.

name was only revealed in the pilot episode, in the name badge on
Francis's military school uniform. So you can probably be excused for
not remembering it.

But isn't this a pretty common question?

I mean, I've never given thought to what their last name was, it never
occurred to me that it wasn't mentioned. Yet I know it wasn't mentioned
because the question has come up every so often, and the thread always
has the answer (which I promptly forget since it has no relevance to me).

So the poster can be excused for not remembering, but I'm less certain
they can be excused for not knowing the name is in common circulation.

Well, I can see why they suppressed it! It's kind of a "lame" name, isn't
it.
