So, in its brilliance, Hollywood decides to replace a sci-fi show with
YAPP(Yet Another Police Procedural)

The possible survivor among the four new sci-fi shows from this season
is 'Surface', which is clearly in limbo at this point:

Hollywood North Report has learned from an an inside source that ABC
Television has decided to shake up its Wednesday night lineup by
replacing the "alien infiltration" drama, "Invasion", with the criminal
procedure series, "The Evidence".

Channel 4 here in the UK will be furious with this. Invasion is doing
pretty well in the UK ratings. It's on a channel that always scores 3rd or
4th regardless of what is on (Lost, Desperate housewives etc all place 3rd
in their time slot on Channel 4. It's highest ratings ever were about 8
million for a Big Brother finale and about 7.5 for the last episode of
Friends. It's highest placed debut show was ER at 5 million which was
matched by Desperate housewives this year - although that scored a lower
audience share)

Channel 4 pushed Invasion a lot, promoting it for weeks before it premiered.
they are about 7 episodes into the series and it's doing very well....

While the network has not officially cancelled its Wednesday night
companion to "Lost", sources tell the site that it's unlikely "Invasion"
will return; a consequence of less than remarkable ratings.

"The Evidence", shot in Vancouver is from acclaimed producer John Wells,
(ER, The West Wing, Third Watch) and director Gary Fleder (Blind
Justice, Runaway Jury). The series is said to put a fascinating twist on
the standard police procedural.

Yawn. I've seen the previews. 'The Evidence' pretty much sounds like CSI

Russell Watson...
"Go Surface"? You do know that as of last night it's just gone, right?
Lack of official announcement notwithstanding, I'll be amazed if it
returns next year.
