"Allies"
(3-10-06 BSG)

pv+usenet...
3.0. Entertaining, but we all knew the shoe was going to drop eventually. *

Tim Bruening...
Battlestar Galactica?

As dumb as these guys appear to be they deserve to become Wraith

The Atlantis team made sure to search the Wraith provided data for
viruses and had it downloaded into firewalled computers, but the worm
somehow circumvented those precautions.

ANIM8Rfsk...
Yeah, we're back to a bunch of people you want to see die. Heavy sigh.

I missed the very beginning. Was that Tripp playing Michael, or did they
recast?

Nopel...
They recast. Michael was played by Brent Stait.

David Loewe, Jr....
Trineer got the credit listing because of the reused footage of
Michael undergoing treatment.

ANIM8Rfsk...
Sheesh. And grrrr.

Rob Jensen...
Reportedly, Trineer (Trip) was unable to do the episode because he and
his wife were having a baby that week, so Stait jumped into the role.
Trineer is in the credits not because of the reused footage but
because they dubbed in his voice over Stait's.

-- Rob

David B...
As someone said Brent Stait played Michael but the had Trip do the voice. His
wife had a baby so he was unavailable to physically play the role.

Mark Nobles...
Yep, it was Tripp. At least his name was in the credits.

DES...
.5 This show has tried to jumped the shark and didn't quite make it.

Clark Zahn...
4.5

The good guys get duped again. Still a good episode, though.

As badly written as usual. As badly acted as usual.

OK I just want to understand: 2 Wraith ships are going to our Galaxy.
So what's he big deal ? It's not like noboy can fight them there, on
the contrary. If the 50 dumb guys of Atlantis succeeded in blowing up
Wraith ships easily, I don't think these 2 will survive a long time in
the Milky Way.

Tim Bruening...
How do we know that those 2 Wraith ships are the only ones traveling to
our galaxy?

Also, our galaxy's forces are already being clobbered by 4 Ori ships!
More Ori ships will probably show up soon.

Brian Thorn...
The Ori won't like the Wraith any more than the humanoids do. At
least, it seems fairly likely the Wraith would get their asses kicked
by the Ori, or a reluctant joining of forces between the humanoids and
the Ori to defeat the Wraith.

But that won't happen unless they combine the two shows.

Tim Bruening...
Why not have a two parter, with part one being an SG-1 episode, and part
two being an Atlantis episode?

erilar...
Ori ought to be good to eat too........

Tim Bruening...
How do you eat an Ascended being?

whodunit...
Do they taste like chicken? ;-)

drifter...
Don't forget, the Wraith defeated the Ancients. And as they said in this
episode, it wasn't because of superior technology, or superior numbers. It
was.......wait, what was it again? Oh, yeah. Scary, pointed teeth.

hmmmmm Wraith vs. Ori?

It was pretty good for a cliffhanger. Of course, I detest season-ending

Arthur Lipscomb...
But they did say it was because of superior numbers...

cliffhangers to begin with. Exactly how the Wraith were going to be
treacherous wasn't telegraphed as much as they sometimes do, so I have
to give a little credit for that.
