Remington Steele's best season?

Any particular season or ep that stands out?

I'm definitely in the pro-Doris Roberts camp, so I'll vote for season 2,
and the memorable S2 episode "Elegy in Steele" (with Quinn Cummings).

The series sucked once they got rid of the original supporting cast and
brought Doris Roberts on board.

I thought the show itself stayed pretty much even through its third
season. I didn't care for Doris Roberts, but I never really cared
for the two supporting players in the first season, either.

The new opening titles were better though.

I used to like that show but after re-watching a lot of them via Netflix, I
can't remember why. :) I thought the first season's format was the best

It WAS pretty good by mid-80s standards...

before they changed the casting.

I actually thought the pilot ep was one of the best. "Steele" was
intelligent and capable as a dapper thief. Later episodes seemed to go back
and forth between making him capable then making him a total bungler who
just gets in the way.
