Well, I suppose I count as a #2, though the choice is rather easy since I
don't have a television to begin with. ;)

Thanks. My reason is option (2). I can't afford to waste $550 a year
on cable tv, so I watch everything off of DVDs (cheaper) or antenna
(free).

(2). Reason: Currently, I don't have enough free time to keep up with
all of the stuff that I can receive acceptably over an antenna. Having
cable or satellite, which would give me many more channels, would be a
100% waste of money.

If I like a show enough, and it bears repeated viewings (e.g. Babylon
5), I get it on DVD.
