Walls of Jericho
Serialized survivor drama splits off into two 'season-ettes'

In this season of serial dramas, it is a question every network
confronts - how to deliver a sequential season without any reruns and
still have enough shows to last all year?

Most are taking the Lost route - a show that suffered greatly from
rerun-itis last year, and in an effort to avoid the same again this
season, ABC has pulled the program for several weeks to stick something
temporary into the time slot.

Meanwhile, over at CBS, Jericho will wind up the first half of its
segmented season with a cliffhanger finale Wednesday at 8 (also on
A-Channel).

The show will then return, in February, and continue uninterrupted from
there.

And what a February: It starts on the 14th with a recap special
examining the story so far. Then an all-new original episode on February
21st that will look at life in Jericho the day before the nukes went off.

What to do for the intervening 10 weeks?

It has not been lost (so to speak) on CBS execs that Jericho is the
number-one most-watched show on its newly minted web service, innertube.
So the network will continue to stream the series' first 11 episodes,
now with additional interactive elements.

No shame. Nice ripoff the Youtube name.

Again, the cliffhanger finale airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. on CBS and A-Channel.
